Introductions from our governors

Name of Governor

Read on to find out more about our school governors.

Louise Maratos

(Chair of Governors)

I became a parent governor and chair at Knights Enham Junior school in July 2018. I am a Chartered chemical engineer and aim to bring my work skills to the governing board team, as well as bringing a parent perspective to the governing body. I have a specialist interest in science and maths. My aim is to be able to make a positive contribution to the school, every child’s education and play an active role in driving school improvement and help the school grow from strength to strength.

Jasper Falk

(Vice Chair of Governors

Originally from London I moved to Andover in 2005. I joined the Governing Board in 2018 as a co-opted Governor as I have a real desire to help where I can in local education. KEJS is a lovely school with a warm welcoming atmosphere and aspirational ethos. I am delighted to be part of the team here. Having worked in finance for the majority of my career I have a particular interest in assisting the school uses its resources as effectively as possible. I have 4 teenage children who keep me busy and I love to play football when I get the chance.

Sam Major (Staff Governor)

I have been a part of Knights Enham schools for nearly 4 years and a staff governor for 2 of those, watching it grow into the great school it is today. I value the opportunity to be part of children’s lives and help shape their futures, my role as staff governor enables me to do the same for our hard-working, friendly school. As a parent and teaching staff, I feel rewarded by my governor role as the children here deserve nothing but the best I can give.

Ruth Gill

(Safeguarding Governor)

I started teaching 8 years ago, passionate about making a difference in children's lives. Having worked at Knights Enham for almost 2 years I took on the role of staff governor to make a greater contribution to the school community.

Steve Hardstaff

(Local Authority Governor)

I moved to Andover when I was 6 when my father was posted here and subsequently, I have made Andover my home. I have a strong believe that we need to work together to give our children the best possible start in life. I became a school Governor in 2007 so that I could understand more about what and how are children are taught. As a result, I have been able to learn many new skills but also, I have been able to utilise my own skills and experience to enhance the future of our children.

Danielle Needham (Parent Governor)    I became a parent governor at Knights Enham schools in March 2024 and I have a passion to support children in education achieving their very best in line with the schools’ values and ethos. If you want to make a difference you need to be part of the change.  I live in Andover and I am the manager of a day nursery in Penton Mewsey, working in the sector for the last 18 years. I can utilise my skills and make a positive contribution to the school. The team has so far been supportive and welcoming, my son is thriving and his confidence is growing each year. My daughter will hopefully be joining reception in September 2025.

Poppy Phipps

(Parent Governor)

I became a parent governor to contribute to the educational success and well-being of all students at our school. I believe in the importance of a strong partnership between parents and the school, and I want to represent the views and concerns of fellow parents. Additionally, being involved in the decision-making process allows me to help ensure the school provides the best possible environment for our children's growth and learning.

Daniel Whitehouse

(Headteacher)

I was appointed as Headteacher in January 2021. Prior to this, I have spent 10 years as a Deputy Head in a primary school and a junior school. Being a father of two, I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I have in ensuring that the highest standard of teaching and learning is achieved. We have a hugely committed team and wonderful children, which of course, is a great place for any Headteacher to start! Our aim is to create the best education for your children whilst they are members of our school family.
